ClearStart policy
Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 18, 2026
ClearStart helps incoming first-year and transfer students turn confusing college messages into clear task lists. This policy explains what information may be used when you visit or use ClearStart.
Information you choose to provide
You may paste college messages into the app. Those messages may include personal information if you do not remove it first. You should remove student ID numbers, Social Security numbers, addresses, financial details, tax information, and any private account information before pasting text into ClearStart.
Local task storage
The current version saves your task board in your own browser using local storage. That means your saved tasks stay on the device and browser you used. If you clear your browser storage, your saved tasks may be deleted.
AI and message processing
The app may use automated tools to turn pasted messages into task lists. ClearStart is not an official college system. You should always verify deadlines, requirements, and account status in your official school portal.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. ClearStart does not directly store your full card number. Stripe may collect payment and billing information according to its own policies.
What ClearStart does not request
ClearStart does not need your Social Security number, full tax documents, student account password, or official financial aid documents. Do not paste those into the app.
